Strength of Youth
I was asked to present some songs for a youth fireside in 2013 and was told that it would focus on the "For the Strength of Youth" booklet. The details about this booklet can be found at this link (For Strength of Youth) I decided to create a quick little song that would help and inspire to memorize these standards that we are taught. You will probably recognize the tune, but I think that familiarity also facilitates the learning process in this case. I am pleased with the results.
The booklet includes a page at the end entitled "Go Forward with Faith" that I did not include in the song. On that page, our youth (and all of us) are taught, "These standards are a guide to help you make correct choices. Review the standards often and ask yourself, 'Am I living the way the Lord wants me to live?' and 'How have I been blessed by living these standards?'" It is my hope that maybe this song may help someone remember these important standards, and to ask these questions often.
As of this writing, I have only used this song in a few settings (including Sierra Vista Stake Girls Camp 2014), but it has seemed to be well received. I later decided to create a fun little video as well - that can be accessed with the Youtube link above.
"By small and simple things are great things brought to pass." (Alma 37:6)

Strength of Youth Lyrics by Michael Squires based on "For the Strength of Youth"
Years ago, the prophet shared with us a revelation, For Strength of Youth was printed and it helps avoid temptation. It teaches us the standards to be followed since creation. I can help remind you with this clever recitation:
Agency, accountable, be careful whom you're dating, Modesty in how you dress, be sure you're educating, Entertainment, fam'ly, friends, and we should all be grateful, Honesty, integrity, clean language that's not hateful.
Music, dancing, and be healthy, don't forget repentance, Service keeps us happy, as does Sabbath Day observance, Purity in thought and action keeps us all compliant, Pay your tithing, work real hard and then be self-reliant.
